Venus in Leo trines Uranus rx in Aries on Monday, September 18th at 12:27am EST. This trine may have us feeling restless with our usual routines, and is calling for a something new and exciting to take relationships, romance, and finances to the next level. This energy is also conducive for cutting out relationships that don’t serve us in order to seek individual freedom.
Next up this week is Venus’s move from Leo into Virgo on Tuesday, September 19th at 9:15pm EST. Unfortunately, Venus is in detriment in Virgo, as its accepting and embracing nature is no match for Virgo’s dry and to-the-point climate. While this aspect may be good for business due to Virgo’s perfectionist ways, relationship-wise, this aspect can create energy that is extra-critical, worrisome, and overall difficult to please. Later in the day on the 19th, Mercury in Virgo opposes Neptune rx in Pisces at 11:50pm EST. While the energy of this transit is only felt over the better course of two days, it may have us questioning what we know and what is really true. This is significant, as Mercury will later trine Pluto in Capricorn on Friday, September 22nd at 2:01pm, potentially revealing what seemed unknown just a few days before. The Sun moves into Libra at 4:02pm EST on Friday, September 22nd. The Sun is in fall here, as Libra, being the opposite sign of Aries which represents the mark of the individual, is more focused on the collective. Libra represents moving away from self-focus and into embracing others and assimilating into a group consciousness. Libra also marks the beginning of the Fall season and the fall equinox in which the hours of day and night are equal. Moon Transits this Week:

This week slows way down following last week’s total solar eclipse in Leo. Jupiter in Libra makes a sextile with Saturn in Sagittarius on Sunday, August 27th at 8:15am EST. This meetup has these planets 60° from one another and able to see each other quite well. With Jupiter ruling knowledge, wisdom, and mind expansion, and Saturn in charge of the past, structure, and reality, this transit encourages being mindful and implementing common sense, something that is not a bad idea coming off of an eclipse.
Mercury rx re-enters Leo on Thursday, August 31st at 11:28am EST. Mercury’s backtracking provides an opportunity to work out anything that may have gone awry when it last coasted through Leo July 5th-25th. Now is a great time to make any necessary apologies, rethink a business transaction, and just generally come from a less self-serving point of view, particularly with the way we come off verbally. Saturday, September 2nd will really get the wheels turning when it comes to taking concerted action. Mars in Leo will trine Uranus rx in Aries, highlighting your passions and urging you to act upon them confidently with unique self-expression. Today is also a day that might incite shakeups with the way you’re used things being done and how you react to them. Regardless, this transit is calling for abrupt and high energy action—you’ll be the most successful if you use your original inventiveness instead of sticking to the status quo. Moon Transits this Week:
Venus enters Cancer on Monday, July 31st at 10:54am EST. This receptive planet and sign combination sends waves of sensitive energy until the end of August. Venus represents our sense of self-esteem, aesthetic standards, sense of affection, social urges, and source of money. When in Cancer, Venus is sensitive, intuitive, sympathetic, security-seeking, and instinctually charming. A skilled Venus in Cancer is nurturing, encouraging, and creative, while an unskilled Venus in Cancer can be defensive, defeatist, and even martyristic. How will you use this energy over the next month?
Uranus in Aries moves retrograde on Thursday, August 3rd at 1:31am EST (10:31pm PST on August 2nd). Uranus is considered the “awakener” of the planets, and when it moves retrograde, we experience internal realizations that shed light on our ways of being. Uranus rx in Aries is asking us to awaken to our natural and instinctive selves, and to exert ourselves in ways that make us stand out as unique from our surroundings. We are also urged to break away from internal constructs and stories that confine us. Uranus will remain retrograde until early January 2018, so we have the remainder of the year to work on liberating ourselves from the constant and limiting tapes that we allow to control us. Jupiter in Libra squares Pluto rx in Capricorn on Friday, August 4th at 2:48pm EST. This is the second square-off between these two planets this year (they last met on March 30th), which marks major shifts in self-control and personal development, for better or worse. When these two planets last met, Jupiter was retrograde in Libra while Pluto was direct in Capricorn—now the opposite is the case, with Jupiter direct in Libra and Pluto rx in Capricorn. This transit sheds light on where we should exert self-control in order to achieve positive results. If not managed appropriately, this transit can also result in sloppy and domineering behavior. Jupiter is often shy about managing the details of things, while Pluto uses the details to empower. This transit asks you to integrate these energies for the greater good, particularly in our external relationships and business dealings. Moon Transits this Week:
A New Moon in Leo greets us the morning of Sunday, July 23rd at 5:46am EST. This New Moon is taking place at 0° Leo, a transitional but fixed point in the zodiac. Mars is only 1° away from this New Moon, which will provide a burst of motivation and initiation to this fixed energy. While Mars can add a significant source of inspiration to this New Moon, Mars in Leo can also lean toward impatience, vanity, and selfishness. If you’re using the New Moon to plan for upcoming ventures, know that while you may feel lit up and on fire during this time, don’t burn yourself out or run others ragged with demands. Ego checking is sure to be a main theme of this New Moon phase.
On Monday, July 24th, Venus in Gemini and Saturn rx in Sagittarius find themselves opposite one another at 10:54am EST. Cold and dry Saturn has a serious effect on receptive and sensitive Venus, highlighting areas in our lives in which we might need to work a little harder and rely less on our personal charms in order to get ahead. You may be called to use a larger source of wisdom (Saturn in Sag) to harness Venus’s scattered priorities in Gemini. This transit is telling us to hunker down and get our act together, and this planetary pressure is likely to create great creative output if used skillfully. Later in this day, Mercury in Leo makes a trine to Uranus in Aries at 12:33pm EST, urging us to think creatively and consider avenues that might otherwise not seem appealing. Mercury enters Virgo on Tuesday, July 25th at 7:41pm EST. Detail- and fact-oriented Mercury is in dignity in Virgo, where is excels at digesting the finer points and small details. Consider Virgo the data analyst and quality control center of the zodiac. This transit sheds a no-nonsense light on information that is presented to us, and we might feel hypercritical or analytical during this time frame. While cold and dry Virgo can sometimes be a buzzkill because it’s so factual and realistic, there is also great possibility to use your factual knowledge creatively and playfully with Mercury in this sign. Mercury will be in Virgo until September, since it will move retrograde in mid-August, thus extending its stay in its domain. The Sun makes an exact encounter with Mars on Wednesday, July 26th at 8:57pm EST. This is a powerful and fiery conjunction that gives us the self-esteem boost we need to get things done. The next 24 hours is a great period to use your personal strengths to initiate a project, communicate your opinion, and take things by the reins. Moon Transits this Week:
Monday, July 17th will be an intensely emotional day with two major squares taking place. Venus in Gemini squares Neptune in Pisces in the morning at 10:33am EST, which might make us feel a little emotionally vulnerable and confused. This transit can make us take the small things and totally over-analyze or blow them out of proportion. Our sense of values may be called to question, and we might realize that material possessions are not fulfilling us in the way that we expect them to. This square will have us yearning for the meaning of things.
Later in the day on Monday, Mars in Cancer squares Uranus in Aries at 9:27pm EST. These two planets are known for being unpredictable, and when they square off, anything is possible. A word of advice and caution: slow down! This is accident prone energy, so you must proceed with the logical mind and an open heart, and not the reactionary ego. Luckily, this right-brained energy is at our disposal when Mercury in Leo trines Saturn rx in Sagittarius the following day, Wednesday, July 19th, at 3:16pm EST. Logic, reason, and diplomacy are facilitated here, and with Mercury in Leo, our delivery will be impeccable. This is the last of four Mercury/Saturn trines in 2017, so use its energy wisely! Mars enters Leo on Thursday, July 20th at 8:19am EST where it functions quite well. With Mars in Leo, our competitive and instinctual natures are fired up and we’re full of inspiration and ambition. Mars can really get into itself here, so watch for any demanding or self-absorbed behavior, but otherwise enjoy this energetic recharge. The Sun in Cancer squares Uranus in Aries later today at 8:26pm EST, compounding the frenetic energy and excitement. On Saturday, July 22nd, the Sun enters Leo at 11:15am EST. The Sun is in rulership in Leo, and our true natures take center stage. This is a transit charged with self-confidence, charm, and vivacity. Ever notice that many Leo personalities are larger than life? This is because the Sun is fully charged in Leo and can’t be stopped from shining bright. Party vibes with the Sun in Leo are high, but Leo can be prone to being pushy to get its way, resulting in upsets or spats. Let a Leo know you love ‘em today—they live for that! Moon Transits this Week
Mars in Gemini opposes Saturn rx in Sagittarius at 2:55am EST on Monday, May 29th. Both Mars and Saturn are considered the malefic planets of the zodiac and are often the culprits involved in obstacles, struggles, and challenges. When these two planets oppose one another, they can have a tendency to bring out the worst. Think of this transit as driving with the brakes on. Mars wants to go, but Saturn rx wants to hold back. This transit can result in delays and roadblocks to your plans. If this happens, take note of where you might need to pay more attention to details and regulations before you can get going again.
Mercury in Taurus trines Pluto rx in Capricorn on Wednesday, May 31st at 8:03am EST. Since both of these planets are in earth signs, conversations about the deeper side of life will be methodical, meaningful, and rooted. You may have an easier time expressing and communicating business matters, or even facilitating difficult conversations and topics directly but with tact. Venus in Aries trines Saturn rx in Sagittarius the next day on Thursday, June 1st at 11:23am EST. Playing by the rules can set you up for success today, especially when dealing with relationships and other people. This energy lasts a few days until Venus meets up with Uranus on Saturday, May 3rd at 3:32am EST. The rules and regulations we felt compelled to abide by have now been thrown out the window, as Uranus brings an unexpected but exciting energy to our relationships and group dealings. The Sun in Gemini trines Jupiter rx in Libra, bringing a boost of positive energy and good luck, which supports the outcomes of the Venus/Uranus conjunction. Anything is possible today, so go for it! Moon Transits this Week: Moon enters Leo Monday, May 29th at 8:12am EST Moon enters Virgo Wednesday, May 31st at 12:16pm EST Moon enters Libra Friday, June 2nd at 8:04pm EST A slowdown of Mercury, our planet of communication, travel, and tricks, takes place this week as it enters Taurus at 12:07am EST on Tuesday, May 16th. While Mercury (the fastest planet) is not always comfortable in Taurus, the slowest and most deeply rooted sign of the zodiac, Mercury can benefit from the change of pace and can learn to be more methodical and focused. Deep and meaningful conversations may be a result of this transit.
A Saturn rx/Uranus trine in the fire signs (Sagittarius and Aries, respectively) on Friday, May 19th at 2:14am EST fuses our regard to the rules with our desire to be an individual. Saturn rx in Sagittarius has been asking us to seriously examine and consider our philosophical, spiritual, and religious leanings. In a trine with Uranus in Aries, you may feel encouraged to pioneer a new idea or expression of yourself while still staying true to your traditional values. This transit forms a grand kite with the North and South Nodes, suggesting that the revelations you come to during this period are related to your true purpose -- what you take in from this world and your subsequent output. Your motivations are likely to turn into accomplishments if this energy is used productively. Venus in Aries also opposes Jupiter rx in Libra on the 19th at 10:12am EST. This transit will put an extroverted spin on your outward and social expression. With Jupiter in Libra disposited by Venus, Jupiter is looking to Venus for “instructions.” Luckily for Jupiter, Venus just wants to see happiness and creativity in any endeavour. These two benefic planets work well together and do not clash in the opposition. Instead, they seem to amplify one another and facilitate working well with others or in groups. The final important transit this week is the Sun’s transition into Gemini on Saturday, May 20th at 1:31pm. Ruled by Mercury, Gemini is the brainy sign of the zodiac. Planets in Gemini are most comfortable and most fully expressive in situations in which they can observe, analyze, and report back their intellectualization of these observations. With the Sun in Gemini, there are lots of stakes in your fire, and somehow you are able to keep track of them all. Gemini can be prone to overextending itself out of curiosity and a desire to examine all facets of a topic or situation. This is where it gets its fickle and flighty reputation. With the Sun in this sign for the next month or so, you may be full of ideas, though they may be superficial due to the sheer number of things running through your mind. If your mind won’t stop racing, don’t worry, it’s par for the course, so enjoy the ride! Moon Phases for this week: Moon enters Capricorn Sunday, May 14th at 1:37am EST Moon enters Aquarius Tuesday, May 16th at 10:50am EST Moon enters Pisces Thursday, May 18th at 11:52pm EST
The motto of Aquarius, “I know,” and its keyword imagination speak to what’s taking place in this card. The woman looks up toward the illuminated window, knowing and acknowledging her higher purpose and aware of the need for coalescence. Aquarius is an unconventional thinker, and the spectrum of the rainbow reflects the myriad of creative ways in which it’s possible to manifest higher purpose. Uranus, the ruling planet of Aquarius, encourages us to do the unusual and unpredictable.
Another minor planetary association that could be considered is Jupiter, the ruler of expansion and positivity; however, Jupiter rules Sagittarius, a fire sign, and, to me, this card is leaning more toward mental activity rather than physical activity. Despite this, consider looking for Jupiter and its aspects in your natal chart to see what impact it might have on your higher aspirations. Numerically speaking, this card is a 7 (16 / 1+6=7), indicating that an investment in some form of seeking, searching, thinking or intellectual exploration should be made or is already underway. With regard to the new moon, this card is inviting us to think creatively about how we can reach new horizons, improve ourselves, find our higher purpose, and turn isolation into motivation. Look at the fire-ruled houses of your natal chart (1st - body, 5th - soul, and 9th - spirit, mind) which are known as the life or personal houses. The planets and their aspects in these houses can indicate how to leverage the physical action of the element of fire in order to act upon the ideas for manifestation that the air sign of this card inspires us to consider. |
