The Sun in Leo forms a trine with Saturn rx in Sagittarius at 5:06pm EST on Sunday, August 13th. This is the second and last trine between the Sun and Saturn this year. The energy is likely to be profitable and conducive for handling responsibilities and combining work with pleasure. Checking things off your to-do list will feel very satisfying today, so get out there and make it happen!
Venus in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn on Tuesday, August 15th at 7:17am. When these two planets face off, finances and relationships can often experience a shakeup. This is because Pluto loves to strip things down and break things apart, and sensitive Venus is no match for Pluto’s intense effects. Obsessions or addictions may seem extra difficult to avoid during this transit. This energy will keep rolling into early Thursday when Venus squares Jupiter in Libra at 2:40am EST, casting a blind eye or encouraging hand to bad habits. Venus square Jupiter can be known for over-exaggerating and wearing rose colored glasses—how rosy will yours be? Moon Transits this Week:

A New Moon in Leo greets us the morning of Sunday, July 23rd at 5:46am EST. This New Moon is taking place at 0° Leo, a transitional but fixed point in the zodiac. Mars is only 1° away from this New Moon, which will provide a burst of motivation and initiation to this fixed energy. While Mars can add a significant source of inspiration to this New Moon, Mars in Leo can also lean toward impatience, vanity, and selfishness. If you’re using the New Moon to plan for upcoming ventures, know that while you may feel lit up and on fire during this time, don’t burn yourself out or run others ragged with demands. Ego checking is sure to be a main theme of this New Moon phase.
On Monday, July 24th, Venus in Gemini and Saturn rx in Sagittarius find themselves opposite one another at 10:54am EST. Cold and dry Saturn has a serious effect on receptive and sensitive Venus, highlighting areas in our lives in which we might need to work a little harder and rely less on our personal charms in order to get ahead. You may be called to use a larger source of wisdom (Saturn in Sag) to harness Venus’s scattered priorities in Gemini. This transit is telling us to hunker down and get our act together, and this planetary pressure is likely to create great creative output if used skillfully. Later in this day, Mercury in Leo makes a trine to Uranus in Aries at 12:33pm EST, urging us to think creatively and consider avenues that might otherwise not seem appealing. Mercury enters Virgo on Tuesday, July 25th at 7:41pm EST. Detail- and fact-oriented Mercury is in dignity in Virgo, where is excels at digesting the finer points and small details. Consider Virgo the data analyst and quality control center of the zodiac. This transit sheds a no-nonsense light on information that is presented to us, and we might feel hypercritical or analytical during this time frame. While cold and dry Virgo can sometimes be a buzzkill because it’s so factual and realistic, there is also great possibility to use your factual knowledge creatively and playfully with Mercury in this sign. Mercury will be in Virgo until September, since it will move retrograde in mid-August, thus extending its stay in its domain. The Sun makes an exact encounter with Mars on Wednesday, July 26th at 8:57pm EST. This is a powerful and fiery conjunction that gives us the self-esteem boost we need to get things done. The next 24 hours is a great period to use your personal strengths to initiate a project, communicate your opinion, and take things by the reins. Moon Transits this Week:
On Sunday, June 18th, Mercury in Gemini opposes Saturn rx in Sagittarius at 3:07pm EST. Decision making will be key over the next two days or so, and Saturn is demanding that you choose wisely. Don’t sweat this transit too much, since Mercury in Gemini is well-armed with facts and opinions, but it’s possible you might feel pigeonholed into having to choose between options you don’t like. The energy from this transit can be used to get things organized and grab ahold of your ambition, just be discerning about where you place your mental energy.
The Sun enters Cancer on Wednesday, June 21st at 12:24am EST. The Sun’s movement into cardinal Cancer marks the summer solstice in which the Sun is at its highest peak and will continue to decline until it enters Capricorn for the winter solstice in December. In Cancer, the Sun sheds light on our emotional well-being, home, and family life. It embodies the feminine divine that we all have, and it rules our intuitive sensing. Over the next month or so, you may feel emphasis that the Sun has in these aspects of your life depending on where Cancer falls in your natal chart. Mercury is not too far behind the Sun, and changes from Gemini to Cancer shortly thereafter at 5:57am EST. Mercury is out of bounds at this point, high above the Sun’s orbit. In Gemini, it is able to look out objectively, but as it transitions into Cancer and embarks on its descent closer to the Sun’s orbit, communications become more instinctual and intuitive with a sense of urgency to get things done. Your gut responses may feel strong following this change of sign, so know that they are in tune with your inner energy. A Full Moon in Cancer takes place Friday, June 23rd at 10:31pm EST. The Moon is the ruler of Cancer and therefore is in essential dignity. During this Full Moon phase, it is able to function to the best of its abilities. The Full Moon in Cancer instinctually sends us back to our home or a place where we feel secure and comforted. Those who are Cancer or water dominant may feel great pleasure in being a homebody and sprucing up their personal space. Emotional connections will take precedence during this Full Moon, so don’t be surprised if you feel compelled to reach out to loved ones or those who are important to you during this time. Venus in Taurus trines Pluto rx in Capricorn for the first time in 2017 on Saturday, June 24th. With the trine energy, these two planets will work together. Venus in Taurus is in essential dignity and at the height of her feminine and sexual expression. With a trine to Pluto, a planet notorious for the darker side of sexual pursuits, Venus is set up for some serious attraction and lust today, but know that any trysts that come of this trine may not necessarily stand the test of time, as Pluto loves to break things down in order to start something new. Enjoy the energy and sexual release if this transit finds you today. This is also a fantastic transit for business and leadership endeavors, just know that they may eventually morph into something very different from what they first started out as. Moon Transits this Week:
In true Gemini fashion, Mercury starts the week off strong with a trine to Jupiter in Libra on Tuesday, June 13th at 11:45am EST. Communication abilities will be flowing strong today, whether you’re telling people what they want to hear or hearing what you want to hear. Later in the day Mercury squares Neptune in Pisces at 11:29pm EST, offering a reminder that sometimes talk is cheap. Transits like these help explain why Mercury-ruled Gemini has a reputation for talking out of both sides of its mouth. You might want to hold off on making any big decisions today until facts and information are cleared up.
On Thursday, June 15th, the Sun in Gemini opposes Saturn rx in Sagittarius at 6:18am EST for the only time this year. Saturn is still on the path to presenting our realities and responsibilities to us and where we need room for improvement, and these issues will be clearly illuminated by its opposition to the Sun today. Issues of authority and lessons needing to be learned will be a brought to the forefront, whether they are internal or external. Use this transit to do some serious growth, even if it doesn’t feel easy. You’ll want to think about these issues as they pertain to you before Neptune moves retrograde in Pisces on Friday, June 16th at 7:09am EST. Neptune rx in Pisces will bring us in touch with our unconscious and spiritual side—if we’re up to the task of diving into unknown waters. Creative ideas and inspirations will flourish during this 5 month retrograde period, though the challenge will be to balance these with moving forward in the real world. Places where you might be in denial may surface for you. Neptune in Pisces is prone to getting carried away in fantasy, so don’t neglect to address personal spiritual issues or development during this time. Moon Transits for this Week:
Sunday, April 2nd
The Moon enters Cancer today at 2:27pm EST, where the Moon is at home and concerned with nurturing and nesting. The Moon squares Venus shortly thereafter at 2:39pm EST, which is just hours before Venus rx moves back into Pisces at 8:25pm EST. This aspect may juxtapose staying in your comfort zone with branching out in an attempt to emulate others. Venus in Pisces can be quite sensitive and susceptible to the emotions of others, but being retrograde, may encounter blocks when trying to juggle urges with values. Monday, April 3rd The Moon in Cancer enters its second quarter phase at 2:39pm EST today. Second quarter Moons are gaining in light, as they sit 90° from the Sun. Think of light being shed on whatever particular situation or circumstance you are focused on at the moment. Now is the time for goal setting and committed action. Tuesday, April 4th Mercury slows down starting today as it prepares to go retrograde. This “storm” before the actual retrograde period corresponds with the perceived movement of the planet moving less than 40 minutes of arc per day. While Mercury is in this state, retrograde-like energy may be picked up on for those highly sensitive or Mercury-dominant. Mercury will officially go retrograde on Sunday, April 9th at 7:14pm EST. Wednesday, April 5th Consider today the calm before the storm. With the Moon in Leo trine the Sun in Aries and steadily gaining light, bigger pieces of the picture may be coming clear. You may be steadily focused on the plan and keenly aware of how you can shine to the best of your ability. Thursday, April 6th Monumental energy is on stage today with Mars in Taurus trine Pluto in Capricorn at 12:01am EST. This earth trine with Mars and Pluto, our planets of power, drive, and transformation, sets us up with the fortitude needed to endure and make headway when Saturn goes retrograde at 1:06am EST (10:06pm PST). Saturn rules our sense of justice, regulations, government, discipline, and cautiousness. When retrograde, it calls on us to reevaluate how we perceive these constructs and the ways in which our perceptions impact our reality. Mars trine Pluto will make sure that our noses stay to the grindstone in examining what comes up. Friday, April 7th The Moon enters Virgo at 12:20am EST today, where we feel called to serve and depend on the acknowledgement or approval of others. The Sun in Aries opposes Jupiter in Libra for the only time this year at 5:39pm EST. This is generally a feel-good aspect with a serving of good vibes, but Jupiter is prone to exaggeration and overextension. Even if you haven’t double-booked yourself today, you may feel like you have. Saturday, April 8th Venus rx in Pisces squares up with Saturn rx in Sagittarius at 4:28pm EST today. This is a double negative, but not in the sense that the two retrogrades cancel one another out. Instead, they doubly affect each other. Now may not be the time for beginning new romantic or business endeavors. The planets need space to breath and reflect on their growth and development since their last retrograde period. The square will challenge this need, and perhaps throw circumstances your way that may seem too good to be true or lacking sufficient details. |
