On Sunday, June 18th, Mercury in Gemini opposes Saturn rx in Sagittarius at 3:07pm EST. Decision making will be key over the next two days or so, and Saturn is demanding that you choose wisely. Don’t sweat this transit too much, since Mercury in Gemini is well-armed with facts and opinions, but it’s possible you might feel pigeonholed into having to choose between options you don’t like. The energy from this transit can be used to get things organized and grab ahold of your ambition, just be discerning about where you place your mental energy.
The Sun enters Cancer on Wednesday, June 21st at 12:24am EST. The Sun’s movement into cardinal Cancer marks the summer solstice in which the Sun is at its highest peak and will continue to decline until it enters Capricorn for the winter solstice in December. In Cancer, the Sun sheds light on our emotional well-being, home, and family life. It embodies the feminine divine that we all have, and it rules our intuitive sensing. Over the next month or so, you may feel emphasis that the Sun has in these aspects of your life depending on where Cancer falls in your natal chart.
Mercury is not too far behind the Sun, and changes from Gemini to Cancer shortly thereafter at 5:57am EST. Mercury is out of bounds at this point, high above the Sun’s orbit. In Gemini, it is able to look out objectively, but as it transitions into Cancer and embarks on its descent closer to the Sun’s orbit, communications become more instinctual and intuitive with a sense of urgency to get things done. Your gut responses may feel strong following this change of sign, so know that they are in tune with your inner energy.
A Full Moon in Cancer takes place Friday, June 23rd at 10:31pm EST. The Moon is the ruler of Cancer and therefore is in essential dignity. During this Full Moon phase, it is able to function to the best of its abilities. The Full Moon in Cancer instinctually sends us back to our home or a place where we feel secure and comforted. Those who are Cancer or water dominant may feel great pleasure in being a homebody and sprucing up their personal space. Emotional connections will take precedence during this Full Moon, so don’t be surprised if you feel compelled to reach out to loved ones or those who are important to you during this time.
Venus in Taurus trines Pluto rx in Capricorn for the first time in 2017 on Saturday, June 24th. With the trine energy, these two planets will work together. Venus in Taurus is in essential dignity and at the height of her feminine and sexual expression. With a trine to Pluto, a planet notorious for the darker side of sexual pursuits, Venus is set up for some serious attraction and lust today, but know that any trysts that come of this trine may not necessarily stand the test of time, as Pluto loves to break things down in order to start something new. Enjoy the energy and sexual release if this transit finds you today. This is also a fantastic transit for business and leadership endeavors, just know that they may eventually morph into something very different from what they first started out as.
Moon Transits this Week:
In true Gemini fashion, Mercury starts the week off strong with a trine to Jupiter in Libra on Tuesday, June 13th at 11:45am EST. Communication abilities will be flowing strong today, whether you’re telling people what they want to hear or hearing what you want to hear. Later in the day Mercury squares Neptune in Pisces at 11:29pm EST, offering a reminder that sometimes talk is cheap. Transits like these help explain why Mercury-ruled Gemini has a reputation for talking out of both sides of its mouth. You might want to hold off on making any big decisions today until facts and information are cleared up.
On Thursday, June 15th, the Sun in Gemini opposes Saturn rx in Sagittarius at 6:18am EST for the only time this year. Saturn is still on the path to presenting our realities and responsibilities to us and where we need room for improvement, and these issues will be clearly illuminated by its opposition to the Sun today. Issues of authority and lessons needing to be learned will be a brought to the forefront, whether they are internal or external. Use this transit to do some serious growth, even if it doesn’t feel easy. You’ll want to think about these issues as they pertain to you before Neptune moves retrograde in Pisces on Friday, June 16th at 7:09am EST.
Neptune rx in Pisces will bring us in touch with our unconscious and spiritual side—if we’re up to the task of diving into unknown waters. Creative ideas and inspirations will flourish during this 5 month retrograde period, though the challenge will be to balance these with moving forward in the real world. Places where you might be in denial may surface for you. Neptune in Pisces is prone to getting carried away in fantasy, so don’t neglect to address personal spiritual issues or development during this time.
Moon Transits for this Week:
Mars enters Cancer on Sunday, June 4th at 12:16pm EST, heightening emotional awareness and tendencies to react instead of initiate. Fiery Mars is in Fall in watery, protective Cancer, so it is challenged to perform at its best. The take-no-prisoners attitude of Mars is watered down by this transit. While this can result in some softening of harder characteristics, it also can result in feeling insecure or weak. The upside is that Mars in Cancer also compels us to take care of business related to our homes and families. Don’t be surprised if over the next 6 weeks you embark on some home improvement projects or are extra involved with family activities.
Tuesday, June 6th is charged with super powerful and positive energy as Venus moves into its home in Taurus at 3:27am EST and Mercury moves into Gemini at 6:15pm EST. Both planets will be in essential dignity, so they are empowered to perform to the best of their abilities as long as you let them. Venus in Taurus helps facilitate smooth relationship interactions, business transactions, and positive self-image and self-esteem. Mercury in Gemini gets our mind running with sharp quips, quick decision-making skills, the ability to analyze, and smooth communication. The combined energies of these two planets in dignity complement one another quite well, so enjoy!
On Friday, June 9th the Full Moon in Gemini occurs at 9:10am EST. With malefic Saturn rx only about 5° from the Moon in Sagittarius, this Full Moon is bound to feel more intense and serious than usual. Luckily, Jupiter rx in Libra moves direct shortly after the Full Moon at 10:03am after about 4 months of being retrograde. This direct movement lays a blanket of positivity over the Moon and Saturn in Sagittarius since Jupiter is the ruling planet of Sag. Thus, realizations you have during this Full Moon period may be hard or uncomfortable lessons to learn, but coming out of them you have the ability that they are for your betterment.
Moon Transits this Week:
Mars in Gemini opposes Saturn rx in Sagittarius at 2:55am EST on Monday, May 29th. Both Mars and Saturn are considered the malefic planets of the zodiac and are often the culprits involved in obstacles, struggles, and challenges. When these two planets oppose one another, they can have a tendency to bring out the worst. Think of this transit as driving with the brakes on. Mars wants to go, but Saturn rx wants to hold back. This transit can result in delays and roadblocks to your plans. If this happens, take note of where you might need to pay more attention to details and regulations before you can get going again.
Mercury in Taurus trines Pluto rx in Capricorn on Wednesday, May 31st at 8:03am EST. Since both of these planets are in earth signs, conversations about the deeper side of life will be methodical, meaningful, and rooted. You may have an easier time expressing and communicating business matters, or even facilitating difficult conversations and topics directly but with tact.
Venus in Aries trines Saturn rx in Sagittarius the next day on Thursday, June 1st at 11:23am EST. Playing by the rules can set you up for success today, especially when dealing with relationships and other people. This energy lasts a few days until Venus meets up with Uranus on Saturday, May 3rd at 3:32am EST. The rules and regulations we felt compelled to abide by have now been thrown out the window, as Uranus brings an unexpected but exciting energy to our relationships and group dealings. The Sun in Gemini trines Jupiter rx in Libra, bringing a boost of positive energy and good luck, which supports the outcomes of the Venus/Uranus conjunction. Anything is possible today, so go for it!
Moon Transits this Week:
Moon enters Leo Monday, May 29th at 8:12am EST
Moon enters Virgo Wednesday, May 31st at 12:16pm EST
Moon enters Libra Friday, June 2nd at 8:04pm EST
Venus in Aries squares Pluto rx in Capricorn on Thursday, May 25th at 12:22pm EST. Venus is already compromised in Aries, as she is in her most uncomfortable sign of the zodiac. With power-loving Pluto rx challenging Venus, power struggles and breakdowns may ensue. This transit is not one that facilitates romantic relationships or easy-going business partnerships. Pluto has a tendency to burn up and destroy whatever issues it comes in contact with. In some cases, this can be positive (think of the phoenix rising from ashes), but it can also be very uncomfortable and drastic. This is a great transit for finally laying to rest a dead-end relationship, but not so much for embarking on a new romance.
Interestingly, the Gemini New Moon takes place later in the day on the 25th at 3:44pm EST. This is a welcome astrological distraction from the awkward Venus/Pluto rx square. Pay attention to ideas that come your way during this time, especially with a New Moon in Gemini, as they are seeds trying to plant themselves for later development. Instead of focusing on what’s broken with the Venus/Pluto square, shift your mindset toward engaging in productive conversation and brainstorming. This is a great time for writing things down, taking notes, and drawing up pros and cons.
Mercury in Taurus is quincunx Jupiter in Libra at 3:17pm EST. In the quincunx aspect, the two planets involved cannot “see” one another, so their interactions are prone to misinterpretation or confusion. Quincunxes always require some sort of adjustment or revisioning, and with Mercury and Jupiter involved, the bigger picture must be reconciled with the details. Don’t allow this energy to overwhelm you--remember that the best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.
Moon Transists for this Week:
Moon enters Aries Sunday, May 21st at 6:10am EST
Moon enters Taurus Tuesday, May 23rd at 8:33am EST
Moon enters Gemini Thursday, May 25th at 8:15am EST
Gemini New Moon Thursday, May 25th at 3:44pm EST
Moon enters Cancer Saturday, May 27th at 7:25am EST
A slowdown of Mercury, our planet of communication, travel, and tricks, takes place this week as it enters Taurus at 12:07am EST on Tuesday, May 16th. While Mercury (the fastest planet) is not always comfortable in Taurus, the slowest and most deeply rooted sign of the zodiac, Mercury can benefit from the change of pace and can learn to be more methodical and focused. Deep and meaningful conversations may be a result of this transit.
A Saturn rx/Uranus trine in the fire signs (Sagittarius and Aries, respectively) on Friday, May 19th at 2:14am EST fuses our regard to the rules with our desire to be an individual. Saturn rx in Sagittarius has been asking us to seriously examine and consider our philosophical, spiritual, and religious leanings. In a trine with Uranus in Aries, you may feel encouraged to pioneer a new idea or expression of yourself while still staying true to your traditional values. This transit forms a grand kite with the North and South Nodes, suggesting that the revelations you come to during this period are related to your true purpose -- what you take in from this world and your subsequent output. Your motivations are likely to turn into accomplishments if this energy is used productively.
Venus in Aries also opposes Jupiter rx in Libra on the 19th at 10:12am EST. This transit will put an extroverted spin on your outward and social expression. With Jupiter in Libra disposited by Venus, Jupiter is looking to Venus for “instructions.” Luckily for Jupiter, Venus just wants to see happiness and creativity in any endeavour. These two benefic planets work well together and do not clash in the opposition. Instead, they seem to amplify one another and facilitate working well with others or in groups.
The final important transit this week is the Sun’s transition into Gemini on Saturday, May 20th at 1:31pm. Ruled by Mercury, Gemini is the brainy sign of the zodiac. Planets in Gemini are most comfortable and most fully expressive in situations in which they can observe, analyze, and report back their intellectualization of these observations. With the Sun in Gemini, there are lots of stakes in your fire, and somehow you are able to keep track of them all. Gemini can be prone to overextending itself out of curiosity and a desire to examine all facets of a topic or situation. This is where it gets its fickle and flighty reputation. With the Sun in this sign for the next month or so, you may be full of ideas, though they may be superficial due to the sheer number of things running through your mind. If your mind won’t stop racing, don’t worry, it’s par for the course, so enjoy the ride!
Moon Phases for this week:
Moon enters Capricorn Sunday, May 14th at 1:37am EST
Moon enters Aquarius Tuesday, May 16th at 10:50am EST
Moon enters Pisces Thursday, May 18th at 11:52pm EST
Sunday, May 7th
The Moon in Libra trines Mars in Gemini at 11:56am EST. Mars in Gemini is fueled by a Mercury-like energy that will enable you to complete your familial obligations, as well as make time for getting together with friends. The Moon passes over Jupiter in Libra at 7:01pm EST, making today a great day in general for getting together with friends or enjoying company in your home.
Monday, May 8th
The Moon in Libra squares Pluto rx in Capricorn at 3:56am EST and opposes Uranus in Aries at 4:47pm EST, posing some challenges for working with others. The Moon/Pluto square may result in power struggle issues, with the Moon inclined to look on the bright side of things and Pluto wanting to get down to business. This power struggle is most likely to take place internally vs. externally. You may feel as though you have to sacrifice amenities today just to get the job done. Uranus in Aries is likely to mix things up just when you feel that you’ve gotten a grasp of them, so be prepared to embrace the unexpected, particularly when it comes to relationships.
Tuesday, May 9th
The Moon enters Scorpio today at 1:01am EST, gearing up for tomorrow’s full Moon. The Sun in Taurus trines Pluto rx in Capricorn at 2:24pm EST, one of only two trines between these planets in 2017. This transit should have us feeling empowered and in control, with both planets in harmony in stable earth signs.
Wednesday, May 10th
Mercury in Aries passes over Uranus in Aries at 1:20am EST. This is the third and last meetup between these planets this year. This transit should be the easiest to deal with, not only because we’ve now experienced two Mercury/Uranus conjunctions, but also because Mercury is now direct for this last transit. The urge to fire off at the mouth or verbalize your wildest ideas will be present, but perhaps more developed. Sometimes your craziest ideas are your best ideas, so see where they take you. The Full Moon in Scorpio happens today at 5:42pm EST, illuminating the path and bringing to light hidden aspects or circumstances we should consider.
Thursday, May 11th
The Moon moves into Sagittarius today at 12:59pm EST, and later Mars in Gemini squares Neptune in Pisces at 1:52pm EST. The Mars/Neptune square may bring up hidden or secret issues that we need to continue to address following the full Moon and up to two weeks thereafter. This transit is also prone to impulse and reaction, often times giving us the impression that we should pursue or respond to something that may not be exactly as it appears. Try to avoid the wild goose chase that this square might throw at you.
Friday, May 12th
Luckily the Mars/Neptune uncertainty takes a turn for the better when Mars in Gemini trines Jupiter rx in Libra at 6:19am EST. This transit will take the edge off and any suspicion you may have been experiencing should be assuaged. This transit is particularly good for self-esteem, and you will likely feel quite confident in your decisions and actions today.
Saturday, May 13th
The Moon in Sagittarius passes over Saturn rx in Sagittarius at 6:56pm EST. This transit will bring our spiritual and familial obligations to light, and may ask us to reconsider how we have been approaching these obligations. Is there room to improve or streamline? This concept may be on your mind today.
Sunday, April 23rd
The Moon in Pisces passes over Venus in Pisces at 5:34pm EST, then enters Aries at 8:32pm EST. Its entrance into Aries will interrupt the watery comfort of a conjunction with Venus in Pisces where Venus is in exaltation. You may feel this energy shift as somewhat frantic or tense. The Moon sextiles Mars in Gemini at 11:34pm EST, adding extra charge and fuel to the fiery Aries energy. Since Mars rules Aries, it is currently dispositing the Moon, or guiding it, so to speak. You may feel confident or justified in your reactions to your emotional hunches.
Monday, April 24th
Mercury in Aries trines Saturn rx in Sagittarius at 4:15am EST. Your inspirations and inventions may feel challenged today due to Saturn’s retrograde movement, but take this challenge as an opportunity for refinement. Saturn wants us to put ourselves out there only when we’ve made all crosschecks and tweaks. Mercury in Aries will tempt you to act impulsively, so just make sure that you’ve gone through everything with a second set of eyes before putting it out on display.
Tuesday, April 25th
The Moon passes over Uranus in Aries at 2:04pm EST, Mercury in Aries at 4:29pm EST, and then enters Taurus at 9:56pm EST. The conjunctions with Uranus and Mercury bring us flashes of insight and inspiration, perhaps even motivating conversation, that at first glance might seem improbable or unadvised; however, once the Moon moves into Taurus, the stability it provides may shed light on how those ideas are more easily conquered or achieved.
Wednesday, April 26th
A New Moon in Taurus takes place at 8:16am EST. A New Moon occurs approximately once a month when the Moon and the Sun meet up at the same degree in the same sign, in this case at 6°27’ Taurus. When any planet is within 17’ (minutes) of the Sun, it is said to be cazimi, and is therefore amplified in expression by the Sun. The cazimi New Moon is an increased opportunity period that is best used about 30 minutes before and after the exact New Moon. If you have something important to accomplish, this time period is the most fruitful of the entire day.
Thursday, April 27th
The Moon in Taurus trines Pluto in Capricorn at 4:50am EST. This earth trine provides us with the instinct and motivation to complete the task at hand, but perhaps in an unexpected or seemingly impossible way. If your ideas are challenged today, look for a resolution in the place you feel least likely to find it. With Pluto in the mix, you want control of the outcome, but you must be willing to let go of being attached to the ways in which the outcome is accomplished. You may experience extreme emotional reserve or outbursts in response to today’s creative energy. The Moon moves into Gemini at 9:39pm EST, adding a intellectualized spin to your projects.
Friday, April 28th
Venus enters Aries for her second spin in the fiery, Mars-ruled sign at 9:13am EST today. In general, it has been a challenging year so far for Venus, with a retrograde period sending her back and forth through Aries (where she is in detriment and least able to fully function) and several meetups with Saturn throughout the year. This might result in feeling creatively spent or romantically challenged, or perhaps both. With Mercury and Uranus also in Aries, there is a lot of impulsive and reactive energy surrounding the concepts that Venus represents, including love, relationships, artistic expression, and money.
Saturday, April 29th
The Moon enters Cancer today at 9:48pm EST and shortly thereafter squares Venus in Aries at 10:59pm EST. The Moon/Venus square continues to compromise Venus in her transit through Aries. This square can result in feeling as though your self-esteem and comfort zone are being disrupted in the most abrupt way. If you can grow from any resulting conflict, whether internal or external (but most likely internal), you will be one step closer to managing the Venus in Aries transit which lasts until June 6th.
Sunday, April 16th
The Moon in Sagittarius links up with Saturn at 2:26pm EST, then goes void of course until entering Capricorn at 7:05pm EST. The void of course Moon in Sagittarius is considered to be an opportunity period or a favorable period, as the Moon in any sign that is ruled or related to Jupiter, is fortunate. Since Jupiter rules Sagittarius, the Moon void of course experiences no interference with other transiting planets or energy. Enjoy the later few hours of Sunday funday!
Monday, April 17th
The Sun in Aries trine Saturn rx in Sagittarius at 8:43am EST gives us the structure needed to be productive today. Saturn rx offers the opportunity to use the structures already in place to pursue your personal goals and interests. Today is a great day to get organized and make it work.
Tuesday, April 18th
The Moon crosses paths with Pluto today at 9:58am EST, heightening our emotional awareness and instinct to react or lash out. Feelings may be intense today, and mood swings wouldn’t be unexpected, as the energies of these two planets combined demand freedom but crave love and fulfillment.
Wednesday, April 19th
Hey, Taurus! Your season officially begins at 5:27pm EST. The gifts Taurus brings to the next month or so include practicality, determination, loyalty, and aesthetic. Taurus wants us to indulge in the things we find pleasure in, and asks us to treat ourselves, but not until the job is done. The motto for this spring is definitely work hard, play harder.
Thursday, April 20th
Pluto goes retrograde today at 8:49am EST and stays that way until September 28th. Since this retrograde period lasts 5 months, its effects may feel prolonged. Pluto is considered to be the planet of transformation, rebirth, and resurrection. When retrograde, it prompts us to undergo an internal investigation of areas in which we need a complete overhaul. This inventory and change doesn’t need to take place overnight, but over a period of time in which you can truly put effort into the work. Any pain or discomfort encountered during this retrograde will make complete sense on the other side.
Friday, April 21st
Mars enters Gemini today at 6:32am where it’s MUCH happier in erratic and fast-paced Gemini. After coming from slow and steady Taurus, the air of Gemini fuels a boost of energy that reignites Mars’ fire and gets our wheels turning. We’ll need it today since Venus in Pisces squares Saturn rx in Sagittarius at 7:09am EST, challenging our relationships and social roles for the third of four times this year. With The moon moving into Pisces today at 3:43pm EST, you might find that it’s easier to spend Friday night alone, saving money, being creative, and crossing things off your to-do list.
Saturday, April 22nd
The Moon meets up with Neptune today, encouraging us to chill out from the hectic week of planetary energy. This is a perfect vibe for Earth Day. Listen to some good tunes, play outside, and get the creative juices flowing for a feel-good day today.
Sunday, April 9th
Mercury takes its hand at going retrograde today at 7:14pm EST, adding to the retrograde party already being attended by Venus and Saturn. When Mercury goes retrograde, communication gaps often present themselves in the form of travel disruptions, failed contracts, and general misinterpretations. Mercury is forced to slow down during this period, which is not exactly its comfort zone. This can result in deeper conversations and more time spent evaluating information as opposed to jumping to conclusions or the next best thing (true to mercurial fashion). With a trio of retrograde planets in the mix, sensitivities in general may be heightened, and we may become more aware of things we were not focused on before.
Monday, April 10th
The Moon joins Jupiter today at 6:58pm, opening spiritual pathways from which we can grow and discover new wisdom through experience. The meetup of these two planets can sometimes lend to sugarcoating circumstances. Jupiter is the planet of wisdom, and with Mercury being retrograde, be aware of how your words, however short or exaggerated, might play into how far you take your emotional expression. Are you walking the walk or just talking the talk?
Tuesday, April 11th
The Full Moon in Libra is at her peak at 2:08am EST, illuminating the shadows we’ve been hiding from, but also the fruits of our labor. This Full Moon’s emphasis is on change through challenges, with Uranus being only 2° from the Sun and more or less opposing the Moon. Uranus’s influence stresses progressive action, so creative and possibly erratic influences and ideas will be flowing with no obstruction. The Moon enters Scorpio later in the day at 6:42pm EST, adding to the probing and pondering that the Full Moon has initiated.
Wednesday, April 12th
The Moon in Scorpio opposes Mercury rx in Taurus at 3:40am EST, which may prove for a difficult or challenging day. The two fastests bodies of the zodiac are in two fixed signs, and with Mercury being retrograde, this recipe can be quite difficult. Stop and go is the theme for today. The Moon trines Neptune in Pisces later at 8:48pm EST, which may take the edge off of the stress and anxiety of the day.
Thursday, April 13th
The Moon in Scorpio is opposite Mars in Taurus at 8:04pm EST, which calls for another rocky day, and this time emotionally. Emotional outbursts or I’ve-had-it moments may surface today, especially since Venus, the dispositor of Mars in Taurus, is still retrograde and conjunct Chiron in Pisces, another emotionally-influenced planetary body and sign.
Friday, April 14th
The Sun and Uranus meet up for their yearly encounter at 1:30am EST, potentially adding to the chaos of the past several days. Change may feel afoot, which is both exciting and scary. This is the vibe that the merging of these two bodies will create. The Moon enters Sagittarius today at 6:27am EST, calling us to act upon personal wisdom and justice.
Saturday, April 15th
Venus goes direct today at 6:18am EST! Anyone affected by emotional or romantic hardship will be relieved to know that Venus is back to her regular self. Her impact extends to Mercury, Mars (both in Taurus), and Jupiter (in Libra), creating more fluid energy flow to and from those planets. You may notice blockages lift in areas where your personal chart is affected, and there will also be a sense of overall well-being and creativity today as Venus gets her groove back.
